Common Cold Weather Conditions
We treat all the common cold-weather conditions for families and singles. One of the easiest ways to prevent these illnesses is to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly. Learn about proper hand-washing techniques.
Flu – Fight the flu by getting a flu shot at any of our Alpha Care locations.
Colds – Colds are very common, as the cold germs are easily spread from person to person. Be sure to cover your mouth fully when you sneeze. Use the crook of your elbow rather than your hands to fight the spread of germs.
Coughs & Sore Throats – As with colds, germs are spread easily. Dry weather can make a sore throat even worse.
Fall Allergies – Allergies are not done just because the flowers go away. Tree pollen and ragweed are some of the biggest offenders.
Stomach Bugs – Typically children pass stomach bugs around at school, then to their parents and siblings. Keep washing your hands!
Dry Skin – Dry weather can wreak havoc on your skin and cause cracking and rashes. To fight dry skin, using a humidifier in your bedroom/house, take lukewarm showers rather than very hot, and use medical lotion on problem areas.
